By Gracious Akujobi Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Thursday, in Abuja, unveiled the new jersey of Nigeria’s national football team.
The jersey which will also serve as the Official Jersey of the Super Eagles at the 20th FIFA World Cup finals taking place in Brazil this summer, was unveiled by the Director General of the National Sports Commission, Gbenga Elegbeleye.
The new and refreshing design is produced by Adidas, the official kit supplier of Nigeria National Teams and the leading kit manufacturers in the world.
Speaking to Prompt News Online at the unveiling ceremony held at the Sunday Dankaro House, NFF President Aminu Maigari, represented by Vice President Mike Umeh, said the new Adidas jersey is a sign of good things to come for the Super Eagles in 2014.
“There are those who believe that it is Africa’s time to cause upset. The NFF, Adidas and millions of Nigerians are very optimistic.
“For the first time Super Eagles will wear their new Jersey for their international friendly against Mexico in the United States and we believe this New Jersey will portend signs of good things to come to Super Eagles and all other national teams.
“This is another opportunity for NFF to express heartfelt appreciation to the Federal Government through the National Sports Commission (NSC) for huge support and assistance to the national teams,” Umeh stated.
The Assistant Coach of Super Eagles, Daniel Amokachi, represented Head Coach Stephen Keshi, who is in the United States, preparatory for next Wednesday’s friendly against Mexico in Atlanta.
Super Eagles’ players, Chigozie Agbim, Ejike Uzoenyi and Abdullahi Shehu were the players on hand to model the new Super Eagles Jersey.
