Nigeria defender Ola Aina is open to signing a permanent deal with Italian outfit Torino following what has been a successful loan spell with the club.
The versatile defender linked up with The Maroons on a season long deal last summer from Chelsea after struggling to break into the first team at the Stamford Bridge and has been rated Torino’s best player this season.
The 22-year-old has thrived in Walter Mazzarri’s well-drilled 3-5-2 system
where he has featured both on the right wing-back and left wing-back positions.
Torino are reported to be keen on making the move permanent even though they face stiff competitions from the likes of AC Milan, Inter Milan and Fiorentina.
Aina who still have two years remaing in his Chelsea contract is however not distracted by all the talks concerning his future and is looking forward to continuing his sojourn with the Turin based side.
“Why not?, Aina stated when asked if he will stay at Torino in an interview with British online news outlet independent.co.uk.
“It’s a good fanbase. It’s a very cultured club. You can tell by the fans and how everything is run here. It’s a nice place to be and I am very happy right now.
The former Hull City loanee who has started 20 Serie A games for Torino also reserved huge praise for Mazzarri the man who offered him the chance to play at at the highest level.
“He’s a great manager, a good coach, a good person, he’s really trying with me.” And he loves the tactical challenge of the football too,”he added.
“The football here is really good, very different. You may not know every side as well as Juventus or Napoli, but all of these sides have good players that challenge you.”
