While Nigeria’s Super Falcons were labouring for a seventh place finish in Cyprus Cup, her Group opponent in the FIFA Women’s World cup final in France, Norway lifted the Algarve Cup in Portugal.
Norway defeated Poland’s senior women’s football team 3-0 in the final of the annual competition hosted by Portugal.
Canada beat Sweden 6-5 on penalties to finish third on the log at the prestigious 12-team event which featured mostly France- bound teams.
Other countries that took part in the competition are China, Switzerland, Spain, Iceland, Netherlands, Denmark, Scotland etc.
Meanwhile, Nigeria lost two matches to Austria and Belgium but defeated Slovakia and Thailand to finish in the seventh place in Cyprus Cup.
