on Thursday in Osogbo.
Oke said “The certification which started on February 5 across the country with Osun not exceptional would be completed before the conduct of the general elections.
“We received about 1,461 vehicles to be certified by INEC but as I speak we have certified about 800 vehicles and left with 661.
“I believe before the end of today (Thursday), all vehicles to be used for the elections in Osun would have been certified and ready for the expected assignment,” he said.
According to him, the purpose of the certification is to allow easy transportation of election sensitive materials to their locations without hitches.
“We don’t want a situation where vehicles carrying election materials would breakdown on highway, paving way for unlawful access to such sensitive materials.
“Also, we don’t want any delay in conveying this sensitive materials to their expected locations with the help of the lead agencies “Police ” and the electoral umpire (INEC),’’ he said.
Oke, however, called for the cooperation of all relevant stakeholders for the successful conduct of the general elections.
