ILORIN – President Muhammadu Buhari has again said fighting corruption has remained the most difficult thing for his administration.
He however, vowed to fight on, saying those who mismanaged the nation’s resources would live to regret it.
President Buhari spoke Monday in Ilorin, Kwara state when the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign delegation visited the Emir of Ilorin, Sulu Gambari, in his palace.
“Your Highness, fighting corruption is the most difficult thing for the administration,” assuring that “I will not give up.”
He spoke further, “those who are put in positions must give account and those who do not will surely regret it.
“We will continue to do our best for our people and our country,” President Buhari assured his host.
The President thanked the Emir for acknowleding the efforts of his government in the area of massive infrastructural development, saying all ongoing road and irrigation projects in the state would be completed.
Welcoming the President to his palace, the Emir of Ilorin, Sulu Gambari, thanked his guest for maintaining peace and stability across the country since he assumed office in 2015.
Particularly, the Emir expressed appreciation to the President for embarking on massive infrastructural projects and thereafter, prayed for him for good health to take Nigeria to the next level.
“I commend your sense of duty and accountability. You are a tested leader and we know you are an achiever,” the Emir said
