MFM FC mainained leadership position in Group A of the Nigeria Professional Football League after an impressive 1-0 away victory against Remo Stars in their match day seven encounter at the Gateway International Stadium, Shagamu on Wednesday, Promptnewsonline.com reports.
Adeniji Kabir scored the winning goal in the 13th minute tapping the ball home from Joshua Abah’s low cross for their first away win of the season.
The Olukoya Boys occupy top spot in the table with 12 points from six games.
In another Group A game, Rivers United and Kwara United battled to a 0-0 draw at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Port Harcourt.
Rivers United moved to third from second position following the stalemate. The Pride Rivers have amassed nine points from six games.
FC IfeanyiUbah reclaimed top spot in Group B after a comfortable 2-0 win against Gombe United in Nnewi.
Ikenna Cooper and Nonso Nzediegwu got the goals for the Anambra Warriors.
Uche Okagbue’s men top the table with 14 points from seven games.
In Umuahia, Abia Warriors defeated Heartland 1-0 in the Oriental derby with Samson Obi netting the winning goal in the 25th minute.
It was the second consecutive win in an Oriental derby in one week for Abia Warriors who also defeated FC IfeanyiUbah 2-1 on the road last Sunday.
At the Krisdera Stadium, Omoku Go Round stunned Kano Pillars edging out the former champions 2-1 in a keenly contested encounter.
NPFL new boys, Kada City came back from a goal down to record a 2-1 win against El Kanemi Warriors at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.
