Eikti State Governorship Election Petition tribunal sitting in Abuja, Monday, upheld the All Progressives Congress candidate, Dr. Kayode Fayemi as the duly elected Governor of Ekiti State.
In its ruling, the Tribunal struck out the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate, Prof Olusola Eleka.
Prompt News Online recalls that Eleka, PDP candidate had filed a petition challenging the victory of Fayemi in the July 14, 2018 governorship election in Ekiti.
Fayemi won the election polling 197,459 votes ahead of his rival, PDP’s Eleka, who polled 178,223 votes.
