The wife of the governor of Ogun , Mrs Olufunso Amosu, has charged the finalists for the 2018 Queen Moremi Ajasoro (QMA) beauty pageant to be optimistic and face their task cheerfully.
She spoke during a tour of the Olumo Rock Resort late Saturday night in Abeokuta, as part of activities for the third edition of the programme holding in the state.
According to her, you should try to face every contest or challenge with smiles on your faces, there should be no dull moment at all.
She said that the secret of success always depended in the hands of everyone, saying this would manifest by how every individual could handle it.
She gave cash gift to the girls to enable them purchase traditional items and ornaments from the museum’s cultural collection that would serve as souvenirs for them .
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) correspondent on board of the tour reports that the girls, guided by the museum officials, explored exciting historical areas up to the peak of Olumo Rocks.
Also speaking on the readiness for the contest, most of the girls expressed anxiety , less than 12 hours to the finals of the contest.
Olawole Kikelemo said, “As I am feeling great, I am also feeling scared, not sure of what will happen anymore, but I will put in my best”.
She told NAN that even if she did not emerge the overall winer, that she believed that she would not be losing anything.
She said she had learnt so much from the exercise while in camp.
Similarly, 21- year-old-Adeleke Damilola said that she was already tensed though she believed that only one queen would be crowned on Dec. 2.
” In fact, if I don’t make it , I have gained so much experiences by interactions with the officials of the Ooni’s Palace while we visited the Oba.
Also, the programme had afforded me the others the opportunity to see the beautiful sites in Abeokuta, she said .
“There, we learnt how to use local fabrics to make bags and, shoes,”, she said.
Also, Damola Omotolaam said that she was looking forward to the finals with great optimism.
” I feel I’ll be crowned as the new queen, I am positive about that.”
NAN reports that the 2018 edition of QMA pageant is the third edition.
It is a cultural contest initiated by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, to boost and promote the Yoruba culture among youths.
This year’s contest is taking place in Abeokuta, with the wife of the Ogun state governor, Mrs Olufunso Amosu, as the chief host.
