The Permanent Secretary, State House, Mr Jalal Arabi, says N1.2billion is required to complete critical projects embarked upon by the State House.
Mr Abiodun Oladunjoye, Deputy Director (Information), State House Media Unit, in a statement in Abuja on Saturday, said Arabi revealed this to the House Committee on Special Projects during a visit to the State House on oversight duty.
The Permanent Secretary told members of the committee that the 2018 Capital releases to the State House had been judiciously utilised.
According to him, N2.1 billion out of N3.3 billion representing 61.2 per cent of the amount released for the year has been utilised.
He said the balance would be disbursed to the contractors as soon as they completed their jobs.
Arabi told the visitors he hoped there would be additional releases before the end of the year “to pay contractors that have executed jobs awarded to them, or to commence work on critical projects yet to be started.”
He also expressed his appreciation to the committee for its support towards improving service delivery in the State House
In his remarks, the Acting Chairman of the Committee Mr Ayodeji Joseph, thanked the Chairman for the warm reception accorded them and expressed satisfaction with the presentation of the Permanent Secretary.
He commended the leadership of the State House for judiciously utilisating the releases so far, saying.
Joseph, however, enjoined the Permanent Secretary to furnish the committee with the specifications of the security vehicles needed for use in the State House so that they could defend the appropriations in their constituencies
