The thirty States of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory FCT internally generated N579.4bn as revenue in the first half of 2018, according to a report released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) in Abuja.
In the report signed by the Statistician General of the Federation and Chief Executive of NBS, Dr. Yemi Kale, the Bureau said the states and FCT IGR figure was higher when compared to N453.83bn recorded in half-year 2017, indicating a growth rate of 27.7 percent.
A breakdown shows that twenty-eight States recorded growth in IGR while eight states which include Abia, Anambra, Benue, Taraba, Kebbi, Kwara, Ebonyi and Enugu recorded a decline at the end of 2018 Half Year.
It noted that Lagos had the highest IGR with N196.39bn; eight states having a fall and 28 states recorded growth in IGR.
The report put the net FAAC allocation in half-year 2018 at N1.23 trillion while the total revenue available to the states was put at N1.74 trillion.
However, the value of foreign debt stands at $4.22bn while domestic debt hits N3.38 trillion at the end of 2018 half year respectively.
The states with a fall in revenue are Abia, Anambra, Benue, Taraba, Kebbi, Kwara, Ebonyi and Enugu.
Also, the allocation to states from the federation account stood at N1.74tn within the first half of this year.
