Nigerian Christian Men have been tasked to take active part in
electioneering and politicking ahead of 2019 general elections in
order to influence the nation’s governance for better productivity,
noting that the era of leaving only women and youths to decide the
outcome of elections has gone.
The National Conference of Men’s Fellowship Methodist Church Nigeria, gave the advise in a communiqué at the end of the 21st/1st
Biennial Conference held at the Wesley Cathedral of Enugu Archdiocese of the Church between November 20th to 26th 2018.
The communique jointly signed by the National President, Sir Adasi E. Ubulom; Bro Anthony Egele, National Secretary and Very Rev. James Adikwu, the National Coordinator emphasized the need for Men to be agent of Peace and Holiness in the Church and the nation which is the theme of the National Conference.

Chukwuemeka Kanu Uche in his address to the Conference bemoaned the financial predicament of the Fellowship and advised that all Men throughout the Conference area of the Church should devise means of contributing for the sustenance of the Fellowship.
The Conference condemned the misgovernance on the path of those in the authority and condemned the spate of cross-carpeting among politicians and lack of political ideology among the nation’s political class.
It also expressed worry over the increasing spate of insecurity,
kidnappings, hooliganism and extra judicial killings in the country.
The Conference encouraged the Nigerian Army who daily have its men fell to the bullets of insurgents and pray for peace across the
country especially the Northern part of the country.
The Conference approved the institution of Samuel Wesley Award and urged the implementation Committee to fast-track action on modalities of honouring the deserving members.
The Conference resolved to set up a National Working Committee to work on the need to improve on the Caring aspect of members of the Fellowship.
