No fewer than six aspirants have withdrawn from the presidential race of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
They announced their withdrawal separately while addressing party delegates at the Eagles Square, Abuja, from Tuesday night to the early hour of Wednesday.
The aspirants which include two serving governors and two former governors also directed their supporters to vote for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Those who have stepped down are: Governors Kayode Fayemi and Mohammed Badaru of Ekiti and Jigawa States respectively.
Also, former governor of Ogun state, Ibikunle Amosun and former governor of Akwa Ibom, Godshill Akpabio have also withdrawn from the race to back Tinubu.
A former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole and Senator Ajayi Boroffice from Ondo have also withdrawn from the presidential race.
Prompt News Online reports that the primary election appears to be a straight fight between Bola Tinubu and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who also enjoys massive support.
