The 44 Local Government Councils of Kano State have proposed N360 billion budget for 2024 fiscal year.
This is contained in a letter by the Commissioner for Local Government, Alhaji Aminu Abdussalam, transmitted to the State House of Assembly, on Monday in Kano.
According to the letter, read at the plenary by the Speaker, Isma’il Fangore, about 31 per cent of the estimate has been earmarked for personnel cost, 20 per cent for overhead cost and 49 per cent for capital project.
The house set Wednesday for the local government councils to appear before it for their budget defence.
The ministry also presented N27.9 billion as Amendment Bill for the year 2023.
Meanwhile, the house has received the audited report of Gaya and Karaye Emirate Councils for the year 2021 and 2022 presented by the Local Government Auditor General, Tijjani Abdullahi.
The house, therefore, referred the report to its standing Committee on Public Account for deliberations. (NAN). READ ALSO:
