The Minister of Power, Mr Abubakar Aliyu, says the 40 Mega Watts (MW) Dadinkowa Power project in Gombe State would soon receive Federal Government intervention.
Mr Austin Asoluka, the Deputy Director, Press, Ministry of Power, said this in a statement in Abuja on Monday.
Aliyu said this when the Gov. Muhammadu Yahaya of Gombe State paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
The minister said that he would study relevant papers pertaining to the power project and make appropriate recommendation for its completion.
The minister appreciated the governor for taking his time off to congratulate him on his elevation.
“From Minister of State, Works and Housing, to substantive Minister of Power,” Aliyu said, describing the visit as brotherly and friendly.
Yahaya had earlier said he was in Abuja to congratulate his brother on his new appointment as a minister of power.
He added that it was an opportunity to also brief the minister on the position of the 40MW Dadinkowa Power Project.
“And other hydropower projects in Gombe State that needed federal government intervention,” the governor said. (NAN)
