Nigeria’s senior women’s football team, Super Falcons will return to the country on Tuesday after finishing third at the Four- Nation tournament held in China.
The African Champions returned to the winning ways early Sunday morning after the team thrashed Romania 4-1 to finish third in the tournament which also featured the host country, China and South Korea.
China had earlier in the week walloped Nigeria 3-0 while South Korea also thrashed Romania by the same scoreline to set up an all Asian final.
Chiwnendu Ihezuo, Onome Ebi, Rita Chikwelu and Ini Abasi Umotong scored Nigeria’s four goals to ensure that the team defeated Romania to pick the Bronze Medal to show for participating in the tournament.
According to Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Head, Women’s Football, Ms Ruth David who is the Leader of Delegation to China, the team has learnt vital lessons that will be useful ahead of the FIFA Women World Cup final in France later in the year.
