Jamaica made history as the first Caribbean nation to reach the last 16 of the FIFA Women’s World Cup following a shocking 0-0 draw against Brazil in Melbourne on Wednesday afternoon.
Brazil needed to win the game to secure a berth in the knockout round but were frustrated by a Jamaican defence who put up a spirited defensive display in the game.
Jamaica created very little going forward but such was their work at the back, that mattered little.

Jamaica joined Switzerland and Japan as one of just three nations yet to concede a goal at Australia & New Zealand 2023.
It was a sad end for Brazil captain Martha who was hoping to win the World Cup on her final tournament appearance.
