Former Cote d’Ivoire captain Didier Drogba has labelled the Super Eagles a difficult opponent.
The Elephants have been drawn against the Super Eagles, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau in Group A for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Super Eagles are the most successful team on the continent in the group.
Jose Peseiro’s side have won the AFCON title thrice, while the Ivorians have won the competition twice.
Drogba said playing the Super Eagles promises to be a thrilling early test for the Elephants.
“It is a very difficult group. Nigeria is of course one of the favourites and to have them in our group, it is going to be an exciting challenge,” Drogba was quoted by CAFonline.
“But we are up for it. This is the beauty of a competition like AFCON, so we are ready to take on the challenge and let the best teams of this group and all the groups qualify.” READ ALSO:
