League Management Company (LMC) has approved FC IfeanyiUbah (FCIU) stadium, Nnewi, for Rangers International FC of Enugu first two-home matches of the new Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
Norbert Okolie, the club media Officer, made this known to newsmen in Enugu on Friday, saying that the venue will serve for the club first two home matches of the season.
According to him, we shall be using the FCIU stadium, Nnewi. We have been given approval to play our first two-home matches there.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the cub adopted the stadium at Nnewi following the ongoing renovation at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium pitch.
Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium had been the home ground of Rangers FC from inception but will not host the forthcoming league matches due to renovation of the pitch.
Okolie noted that the club had lots of stadiums in mind which Nnewi was one of them.
“We considered some stadiums within the region but the decision lays on the hands of the league organisers.”
“Rangers FC can play at any stadium and now that League Management Company (LMC) has approved Nnewi, we are going to make it our home,” Okolie said.
NAN reports that Rangers can only return to their home ground, Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, when it reached completion and approved for matches by the country football authority (NAN)
