Nigeria is the only African country selected for a three –day special workshop on the 2018 FIFA World Cup Ticketing that has just ended at the FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland.
NFF’s Chief Systems Analyst, Tolu Abe, attended the workshop alongside officials from reigning world champions Germany, 2018 FIFA World Cup host nation Russia, United States of America, Spain, France, Italy, Argentina, Mexico, Netherlands and Australia.
Issues bordering on new FIFA initiative on sales of tickets for the next World Cup finals were discussed extensively. Also, security of each Participating Member Association’s fans watching the FIFA World Cup live in Russia was deliberated upon.
It was also decided that any Participating Member Association’s fan going to Russia to watch the FIFA World Cup must have Fan Identification, in addition to tickets, to enable access to the match venues.
The Workshop was co-ordinated by Eller Falk, Head of FIFA Ticketing, Diana Engetschwiler, FIFA Marketing/Ticketing Manager and Fernando Abellan, MATCH Services AG, Spain.
