Two men, Ayobami Akintola, 45, and Dennis Madojenmu, 40, on Thursday, were brought before a Grade ‘A’ Customary Court, Ibadan, charged with N2.15 million fraud.
The defendants, whose addresses were not provided, were charged with conspiracy, obtaining money under false pretences and stealing.
They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against them.
Earlier the Prosecutor, Mr Philip Amusan, told the court that the defendants allegedly committed the offences on March 29, at 5.00 p.m, at Oluyole area of Ibadan.
Amusan alleged that the defendants obtained the sum of N2.15 million from one Ismail Lawal, on the pretext of selling a Toyota Corolla car to him, but failed to do so.
He said that the defendants during police investigation, however, claimed that the complainant did not pay the money into their account, but a wrong account .
He said that the offences aĺlrgedly committed contravened Sections 516, 419 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Court President, Mrs Moji Aworemi, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N1 million each and two sureties each in like sum.
Aworemi held that one of the sureties must be a blood relation to the defendants.
She adjourned the case until July 26 for hearing. (NAN)
