Nigerian-born midfielder Ethan Nwaneri makes history as the youngest player ever to play in the English Premier League as Arsenal defeated Brentford 3-0 on Sunday afternoon.
Nwaneri took the place of Portugal midfielder Fabio Vieira in the 92nd minute of the encounter at the Gtech Community Stadium.
The youngster makes his debut Premier League appearance at 15 years and 181 days old.
William Saliba opened the scoring with a flicked, near-post header from Bukayo Saka’s corner in the 17th minute.
Gabriel Jesus doubled Arsenal’s advantage with another header from Granit Xhaka’s cross two minutes before the half hour mark.
The Gunners continued their dominance after the break with Vieira riffling a stunning effort in off the post from 25 yards out.
Mikel Arteta’s side moved to top position a point clear of Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.
