Former U-23 Star Gbolahan Salami has appealed to the management of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) to urgently embark on aggressive recruitment of experienced players if the club must escape relegation.
The striker who spoke to Prompt News Online in Abuja expressed fears about the team going on relegation.
“The way everything is going with the team if care is not taken the pride of Ibadan may go to relegation,” Salami said.
He said although the management of the club is trying in terms of taking care of the players, he however said they needed to do more by injecting experienced players to help save the relegation-bound.
He said: “I think the club needs to buy some experienced players, we need some matured players that would use their experience to help the team win three straight games which will lift us out of relegation waters”.
Right now, the Oluyole Warriors are playing behind closed doors because the fans were unruly in their match against Kwara United and Salami is appealing to LMC to please unban the fans.
“I am appealing to LMC to unban the team so that the fans can come back to the stands, the fans always inspire the players on the pitch of play and that we are lacking” he said.
Shooting Stars Sports Club currently occupies the 16th position on the league table with 27 points.
