Holy Child and Community Secondary both of Isuofia have qualified to represent Anambra South Senatorial District at the state final of the Volleyball event of the ongoing Anambra School Sports festival.
Holy Child defeated CSS Isuofia 3-2 in a thrilling five sets encounter held at the volleyball Court of CSS Isuofia on Saturday.
In female football, Maria Regina Secondary School, Nnewi, lost 0 -3 to Holy Child Secondary School Isuofia in their semifinal tie but both teams progressed to the state finals.
Christ Redeemer’s College, Amesi defeated CSS Oko 4-2 in U17 female football to emerge one of the finalists from Anambra South zone.
In male football, Nnewi High school and Holy Child Community Secondary School are through to the finals in the U17 category.
Christ Redeemer’s College, Amesi male football team joined their female counterparts in the state finals after defeating CSS Awgbu.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that zonal qualifiers action is going on in Anambra Central and Anambra North districts in the 10 competitive events at the festival.
The state finals will hold between June 21 and June 24 in Awka. (NAN)
