Barely a week ago, the USA men’s basketball team narrowly avoided an embarrassing defeat to South Sudan in a pre-Olympics warm-up in London, winning 101-100.
No such scares tonight, as the team booked its spot in the last eight by beating South Sudan 103-86.
Bam Adebayo got 18 points for the Americans, who also had contributions from Kevin Durant (14), Anthony Edwards (13), and LeBron James (12).
South Sudan will face Serbia in an important game in which the winner qualifies for the quarter-finals.
