Ademola Lookman has praised his Atalanta teammates after he was named the Man of the Match in La Dea’s win over Shakhtar Donetsk.
The Nigerian, who featured for 60 minutes in the game scored a goal and provided an assist.
The goal was his first in the UEFA Champions League.
Lookman expressed gratitude to his teammates for helping him claim the individual honour.
“It’s always nice to receive these awards. I wouldn’t have been able to do that without the team, and the team had a good performance today,” he told Sky Sports.
Lookman also reflected on Gian Piero Gasperini’s side win.
“I’m very happy with the victory. I think tonight’s victory was very important for us to make another step, stronger in Europe,”he declared.
“I think, especially after our first performance against Arsenal at home, we put on a good performance, and to build up on that tonight and to score the goals and win was very important for us going ahead into the next busy schedule that we have.”
