During his tenure as Minister, I had the honor of hosting Chief Sunday Dare to participate in our annual Women’s Day Football Tournament. As the Executive Director of FAME Foundation, seeing him grace our event with his presence was a moment of immense pride.
His support was not just symbolic but a testament to his commitment to uplifting youth and women. Chief Dare’s involvement underscored his deep belief in the transformative power of sports to empower and inspire, reflecting his genuine concern for the welfare and advancement of every Nigerian.
Chief Dare’s leadership has been nothing short of transformative. He has championed numerous initiatives that have fostered growth and development within Nigerian sports. His vision extended beyond the pursuit of medals; he sought to build a sustainable sports culture that nurtures talent from the grassroots level. An astute politician, loyalist and mentee of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Moreover, Chief Dare has been a relentless advocate for gender equality in sports. His unwavering support for women’s sports initiatives is commendable. His efforts have inspired countless young girls to pursue their dreams in athletics, providing them with the opportunities they deserve.
As humble as a dove. To know him is to love him. Smartness and intelligence personified. Great and proud son of Ogbomosho who has made lasting impact in my political and career journey. A man that has been so helpful and kind that I will forever appreciate his good gestures which will obviously outlive him.
As Chief Sunday Dare commemorates his 58th birthday, let us come together to celebrate his extraordinary contributions to our nation. May his legacy serve as a catalyst for us to continue striving for excellence, advocating for the marginalized, and embodying the principles of integrity and compassion in all our endeavors.
