Less than 24 hours to the crucial first leg of the African qualifier match of the women’s football tournament of Tokyo 2020 Olympics between Cote d Ivoire and Nigeria, Super Falcons’ interim Coach, Christopher Musa Danjuma said he will fancy an away win or draw in Abidjan.
The Nigerian delegation comprising of players, coaches and backroom staff as well as few Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) officials have since Tuesday settled down in Abidjan.The team of 18 players are made up of 11 home- based and only 7 overseas professional players.
But Danjuma is optimistic that the reigning African champions, Super Falcons will soar high in Abidjan as the players selected for tomorrow’s match have all it takes to snatch an away victory.
According to the national U-20 team (Falconets) Head Coach who led the team to win Gold medal recently at All Africa Games in Morocco, he is determined to work hard with the players in camp to ensure that Nigeria did not only win the two legs against Cote d Ivoire but qualify for the Olympic Games in Tokyo next year.
Said he, “I want to solicit for the support of Nigerians to ensure that Super Falcons qualify for the Olympic Games this time around. I am sure that with the cooperation of the players, officials and our fans we shall not disappoint the nation. We have what it takes to beat any opponent”.

The Nigeria Football Federation has already scheduled the return leg of the fixture for the Agege Stadium, Lagos on Monday, 7th October 2019.
