Chukwuebuka EneKwechi throws 21.47m in the shot put Men’s final beating Olympic target to win gold medal in the ongoing Olympic Trials and Invitational Relays in Lagos.
Earlier this year, Chukwuebuka has thrown 21.53m coming as his Season Best (SB) to beat his 21.77m national record set by him in Brazil on the 28 April 2019.
Dotun Ogundeji throws 19.68m to come second while Eke Kalu came third with 17.16m throw.
Abasiamo Akpan won gold medal in 400m Women’s Hurdles with 57.47 seconds which could not beat the National record of 54.40sec set by Muizat Ajoke Odumosu since August 6, 2012 in London Olympic Games.
Timothy Emoghene ran 49.69sec in Men’s 400m hurdles beating his former Personal Best to win the gold medal.
Before Saturday, he ran 50.49 seconds at National Sports Festival in Edo with improved performance, he ran faster to achieve his Personal Best.
Meanwhile, Henry Amike’s 48.50m National record in Rome World Championship on August 31st 1987 still stand.
