The police in Lagos on Friday, arraigned a 14- year-old boy, (name withheld) in an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly defiling a minor.
The defendant, a school attendant, who resides at 18, Amoo St., Agege, Lagos, is being tried for defilement.
The prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem told the court that the offence was committed on Feb. 13 at a private school in Ikeja.
Akeem said that the defendant defiled a 7- year-old girl, one of the pupils in inside the school premises.
The prosecutor said that the girl told her mother when she was having pain while urinating.The offence contravened section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Bola Osunsanmi granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
Osunsanmi adjourned the case until April 11, for mention. (NAN)
