A new date of August 27 has been fixed for hearing of the appeal filed against the Governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Mimiko by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Action Congress of Nigeria.
Earlier, the case was fixed for September 24. But, following protest from concerned people that the date will be outside the mandatory 60 days prescribed by law to determine the election petition appeal, the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mariam Aloma Mukhtar, had to re-fix hearing in the appeals.
The duo of Olusola Oke- PDP and Rotimi Akeredolu- ACN had filed appeal against the judgement of the Court of Appeal that upheld the election of Olusegun Mimiko as Governor of Ondo state.
