Nigeria’s Super Falcons will start their quest for a place at the 2023 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations against Sao Tome and Principe.
The draw ceremony for the biennial competition which will be hosted by Morocco was conducted on Thursday night at the Mohamed V1 Complex, Rabat.
Should the Super Eagles beat Sao Tome and Principe, they will battle either Cape Verde or Liberia in the second round.
The overall winners of that tie is guaranteed a place in Morocco 2024.
Nigeria came fourth at the previous edition of the WAFCON which incidentally was hosted by Morocco.
The 2024 WAFCON qualifers will start next month.
Morocco by virtue of being hosts, will not engage in the qualifiers that are set for August this year.
Reigning champions, South Africa along with 3rd place finishers, Zambia will only engage in the qualifiers during the second round.
