After forcing Portugal to a 3-3 draw at BBVA Stadium in Houston, Texas late Sunday, the Super Falcons delegation arrived Austin on Monday afternoon for the last match against United States Women’s National Team (USWNT) billed for brand new Q2 Stadium on Wednesday.
Prompt News exclusively gathered the team on Monday morning hit the road by bus for the three-hour drive from Houston to Austin as the players, coaches, backroom staff and Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Board Members used the opportunity to see the countryside while on the trip.
The delegation has since settled at Fairmont Hotel in the siren area of Austin just as the Super Falcons were scheduled to have a light walkout at Q2 Stadium late Monday and full training on Tuesday.
Prompt News can also report that all the players including Captain Asisat Oshoala and defender Onome Ebi who were substituted due to injuries at some stages in the last match against Portugal in Houston have recovered from the knocks and are looking forward to the big game against four-time FIFA Women’s World Cup champions, USA on Wednesday.
Super Falcons lost the first game 0-1 to Reggae Girlz of Jamaica on June 10 before drawing 3-3 in the second match against Portugal on Sunday night.
