The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have commiserated with Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr on the death of his mother, Elizabeth Rohr.
Elizabeth died on Thursday at the ripe age of 97. Details of her death is yet to be made public.
“We commiserate with @NGSuperEagles Head coach, Mr Gernot Rohr who just lost his mother Madam Elisabeth Rohr. She was 97. May her soul rest in peace,”reads a tweet on the official Twitter handle of the Nigeria Football Federation.
Rohr led the Super Eagles to a 2-2 draw in a friendly encounter against Ukraine at the Dnipro Stadium on Tuesday.
The former Gabon coach has been in charge of the three time African champions since 2016, after taking over from former boss Sunday Oliseh.
The German tactician led Nigeria to win bronze medal at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations held in Egypt earlier this summer.
