Former Super Eagles defender, Ifeanyi Udeze believes the team can’t challenge for the title at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Jose Peseiro’s will be looking to win a fourth title at the 2023 AFCON finals next January.
Udeze posited that while there are quality players in the Super Eagles the issue of blending which affect the team’s performance at the competition.
“We have the players to achieve that, but currently, we lack the team. The coach needs to blend these players together to form a cohesive team,” the former West Brom defender said in an interview with The Punch.
“Right now, we have talented players, but they haven’t gelled as a collective unit.”
Nigeria will face hosts Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau in Group A. READ ALSO:

The Super Eagles will open their campaign at the competition against Equatorial Guinea at the Alhassan Quattara Stadium, Ebimpe on January 14.
