By Harry Awurumibe Sunshine Queens of Akure have won the 2015 Federation Cup beating Bayelsa Queens FC 3-1 on penalties.
The match had ended one goal apiece during the regulation time.
However, the rules permitted penalty shootout which the Governor Olusegun Mimiko”s Babes won by scoring three of their five kicks.
Bayelsa would have won in the open play when Patience Kalu put them ahead in the half hour mark of the second stanza only for Sunshine Queens youth international Shola Oyewusi to scramble in the equalizer few minutes to the end of the match.
It is the first time Sunshine Queens FC will lift the cup.
