Anambra State Football Association Chairman, Chikelue Iloenyosi has expressed his delight to be amongst the 2024 SV Awards nominees just as he has said that such noble recognition will spur him to work even harder in his mission to reposition football in the state within the shortest possible period.
Speaking to Prompt News at the weekend, an excited Iloenyosi said he is most humbled to be nominated for the prestigious SV Awards which will hold in Lagos on Friday, March 1, 2024.
He commended the organisers of the yearly awards for recognising what he his doing in Anambra state where he said he is seriously working to revive grassroots football in his deliberate efforts to make Anambra the hub of football activities in Nigeria.
The former Super Eagles and Flying Eagles defender revealed that he cannot wait to receive the award alongside prominent Nigerians who have left great legacies in sports administration, management, sponsorship and promotion like the former governor of Abia state and member of National Assembly (NASS) Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and current Chairman of the Nigeria Professional League Board, Hon Gbenga Elegbeleye.
Said he: “I am happy to announce that the organisers of the annual Sportsville Awards have nominated me for a Recognition Awards.
“I am happy that people are seeing what I have been doing at Anambra FA since I was elected to run the association. I must say that this type of recognition will ginger me into going the extra mile to ensure proper football development in Anambra state”.
Iloenyosi is among A-list of top sports personalities nominated for different awards categories by the organisers of the annual Sportsville Special Recognition Awards.
They include Kalu, Elegbeleye and former Athletic Federation Chairman and current NOC first Vice President, Chief Solomon Ogba and veteran journalist Otunba Segun Runsewe.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Organising Committee, Comrade Adekunle Salami has said the nominees are enthusiastic of attending the elaborate ceremony in Lagos, pointing out that his committee took pains to ensure that only those truly deserving the awards made the final cut. READ ALSO:

Said he: “For the Icon category, Senator (Chief) Orji Uzor Kalu, Otunba Segun Runsewe OON, Chief Solomon Ogba, Rtn. Victor Ochei are on the cards while Hon Gbenga Elegbeleye is the only nominee for the administrator of the year category.
“A total of 11 recipients are on the cards for the Special Recognition Category. They are Hon. Fatai Adekunle Ayoola (Executive Chairman, Ajeromi Ifelodun LGA), Edington Kuejebola, KHajiya Zainab Saleh, Hon. Agboola Dabiri, Gbenga Ojofeitimi, Kunle Solaja, Dr Uyi Akpata, Chikelue Iloenyosi, Coach Sebastian Brodricks (Post Humous), Francis Orbih and Brila FM”.
“The Chief Executive Officer of Sportsville, Frank Ilaboya, has been an advocate of strong Nigerian League and believes recognition of this nature will propel the actors to do better,” he added.
The ceremony holds on Friday, March 1, 2024 at the prestigious Eko Club, off Bode Thomas street in Lagos under the Chairmanship of former Green Eagles captain, Dr Segun Odegbami, MON.
