The Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (SMEDAN) has supported Kamilah Farms with N500, 000 grant to boost its operations.
Kamilah Farms is operated by a 14-year-old enterpreneur, Miss Kamilah Ahmed, daughter of BPE Head of Public Communications, Hajia Amina Tukur Othman.
SMEDAN which made the donation recently at the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) through its Director, Partnership and Coordination, Alhaji Idris Gambo who represented the Director General, Dikko Umaru Radda said the support is specifically for Kamilah Farms expansion and growth.
He said the young entrepreneur was given the grant after her “outstanding” presentation at one of the agency’s business clinics for start-ups in Jos, Plateau State recently.
“With the support we are giving the young entrepreneur, we expect her to get more hands to assist her. That is the essence of entrepreneurship”, the Director General said, adding that SMEDAN offers dozens of programmes for SMEs across the country.
He urged young entrepreneurs in the country to check the agency’s website for details on how to benefit from the agency’s programmes and services.
Responding, 14- year- old Kamilah Ahmed, expressed appreciation to SMEDAN and the ACCI for the support, pledging that the grant would be judiciously utilized.
It would be recalled that Kamilah farms launched its first line of products Kamilah Farms Zobo powder on March 5, 2020. The zobo comes in seven different unique and distinct flavours made up of natural spices and herbs; zobo powder, zobo powder with ginger, zobo powder with cinnamon, zobo powder with cinnamon, cloves and ginger, zobo powder with beetroot, zobo powder with turmeric and zobo powder with cloves and ginger.
Kamilah farms Ltd currently has other products such as the Daddawa (locust bean). Ginger, garlic and Pepper the traditional pepper called yaji all in powdered form and natural Shea Butter with Shea Butter with Coconut Oil.
