Shooting Stars head coach Gbenga Ogunbote has said he will continue to work on the attacking department of the team as the 2023/24 NPFL season progresses.
Despite his wards’ 3-1 victory over enterprising Doma United FC of Gombe, the experienced tactician, though expressed satisfaction with the improvement so far, admitted that there was still room for improvement.
“If a team scored three goals, even if we have not played well, you still need to give us some kudos. We are coming up gradually in this aspect, it does not mean we have gotten a perfect solution.
“We will keep training and retraining, making sure that the art of goal scoring continues. The essence of the game, is to score goals and prevent goals from being scored, so if we can score and prevent the opponents from scoring, I think the attackers have done very well”, he said.
The Oracle as the gaffer is fondly called, defended goalkeeper Ovunda Darlington over the goal scored by the visitors, stressing that the ball was deflected into the net by one of his defenders.
“To many people, the keeper has no excuse, but the goal he conceded, he has to be excused because it was a deflection”. READ ALSO:
