Sacked national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff has congratulated Senator Ahmed Makarfi, who was declared the authentic chairman of the PDP on Wednesday by the Supreme Court.
Sheriff on his Twitter handle said the Supreme Court had spoken calling for all hands to be on deck to build the party.
He tweeted, “The Supreme Court has spoken. I congratulate Senator Makarfi. We must all put our hands together to channel a new course for the PDP. “Moving forward, we must embrace true reconciliation, so as to be united as a formidable option to send the APC packing in 2019.
“This is the time to build the PDP and to focus on the future, which include reclaiming power from the APC.”
Shortly after the ruling, Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswil Akpabio, called on those who had left the party to return, describing the judgement as “No Victor, no Vanquished”.
