A 32-year-old sex worker, Riyanatu Musa, has been arrested in Adamawa for allegedly killing a barman, Yohanna Musa, over a ₦200 debt in Yola.
According to police spokesperson Suleiman Nguroje, the incident occurred after a dispute over an outstanding balance for alcohol purchased by the suspect.
Nguroje revealed that Musa admitted to the crime, explaining that she had bought Big Ben dry gin and Yahoo from the deceased and paid ₦1,500, leaving a balance of ₦200.
When the matter was raised, a heated argument ensued, during which she stabbed the barman in the chest, leading to his death.
Prompt News reports that the state’s Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, has ordered a full investigation into the case and advised residents against taking the law into their own hands.
