By Olusegun Lawrence. Mr Babachir Lawal, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) on Thursday, made a dramatic U-turn, asking the Senate to reschedule its investigative hearing to enable him appear.
Prompt News recalls that the SGF
had on Wednesday written a letter dated 22nd March to the Senate to the effect that he would not be able to appear before the Ad-hoc Committee on Mounting Humanitarian Crisis in the North-East because the matter is already in Court.
But, in another letter written to the committee, Mr. Lawal pleaded that the hearing be fixed for another date.
”I wish to kindly request that you draw the attention of the other members of the committee that I will not be able to appear before the committee primarily because of a pressing engagement of government which clashed with the date and time of the hearing
“I kindly request a rescheduling of the hearing, please,” the letter asking for rescheduling reads.
