Saint George Military Church (Protestant), Arakan Cantonment, Nigerian Army, Apapa, Lagos, has marked its 70th Anniversary with the theme “Celebrating God’s Faithfulness.”
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Planning Committee of the Anniversary Celebration and outgoing CEO of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), Elder ‘Laoye Jaiyeola, said that St George military church may have started from humble beginnings, but it is impressive to see how much it has grown and how it has brought together such a large faith community over the years.
He noted that the church is a testimony to the goodness of God and prayed that God will continue to use the church to spread the good news strategically.
In his remarks, the Acting Director, Chaplain Services Protestant, Lt Colonel (Ven) TA Ogbonyomi, stated that it is with a deep sense of gratitude to God that the Saint George Military Church is able to witness the auspicious occasion of her 70th Anniversary of existence.
He noted that St George remains a sanctuary, not just because of the calibre of heroes past that have laboured for the growth and sustenance of the church but also because the church’s existence as a directorate is deeply rooted in the annals of the church.
Lt Colonel (Ven) TA Ogbonyomi also used the opportunity to pay glowing tributes to the foundational members of the church, who he referred to as the church’s heroes past and that their memories remain a great source of inspiration and strength to the church and its members. READ ALSO:
