The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday announced that about 56, 431,225 million Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) have been collected ahead of the rescheduled elections holding on March 28 and April 11, 2015.
Mr. Kayode Idowu, the Chief Press Secretary to INEC Chairman, could not however confirm if the exercise would be extended again.
The total number of voters on INEC’s register is 68, 833,476 million.
The latest update made available to newsmen in Abuja, indicates that the collection rate has reached 81.98 percent.
It also states that most states have reached between 60 % and above collection rate.
Ogun state which had in recent past recorded the lowest collection has now increased to 49.45% while Gombe and Zamfara recorded over 95%.
