RAMADAN IS HERE!!! – Purify your soul
Do not be left out!!!
In your front – death is waiting
In your behind – old age is chasing
If you reflect –Time is warning you
On the left path – Devil is calling you
On the right path – Islam is inviting you
Down below you – The grave is waiting
Above and around – Allah is watching
Seek Allah’s help to direct you to the straight path – ALFAATIAH
As time passes by, man inches closer and closer to his origin (the dust), as you know, all are from dust and to dust shall the body mass return. What happens to the soul at death after resurrection? It either goes to Paradise if a believer and a doer of good deeds or Hell if an unbeliever.
In this Ramadan, I want you to key-in to the opportunity ‘essence of life’ offers, to make the Garden, I mean Paradise by Allah’s mercy– Aljanna.
The Body as a Vehicle:
The body is a vehicle that drives around the soul, at the appropriate time when the body through ill-health, accident or old age, when the time allotted the soul is up, it departs and the owner of the body is said to have died.
Ø Let us now link the physical body to be your means of transportation – bicycle, auto-mobile, plane, ship, horse or Camel
Ø The soul is the driver / rider / occupant of the vehicle
Who needs be given more care and attention, the body or the soul, the vehicle or its occupant?
Purify your soul; you can direct your body,
If you corrupt your soul, your mind and body corrupt
A misplacement of priority
§Suppose you are invited to a house and you go there in your vehicle.
§Now, how would you feel if your friend starts looking for gas for your vehicle and admiring the glossy paint while he pays you no attention?
§You will feel confused as you, the rider, was suppose to be the guest (the focus of attention), not the vehicle that brought you to the venue.
The above situation sounds abnormal but that is exactly what you do when all attention is given to the body at the expense of your soul
§Allah has given you a body and a soul.
§The soul rides on the body to pass through this world.
§In other words, the body is a vehicle and the soul is the rider.
When you are continuously busy in feeding and looking after the body but totally ignoring the well being of your souls, the result is your soul become so weak it is not strong enough to discipline itself.
Thus, it is essential that you strengthen your soul with the spiritual light as shown by Islam, such as keeping the company of the pious, recitation of the Holy Quran, Dhikr of Allah and contemplating the Greatness of Allah. This much Ramadan affords you a month long training program. An annual program around the world, do not be left out.
The honour done to Man
17:70. We have honoured the sons of Adam; provided them with transport on land and sea; given them for sustenance things good and pure; and conferred on them special favours, above a great part of Our creation.
Do all ends here?
71. One day We (Allah the Majestic) shall call together all human beings with their [respective] Imams (Leaders): those who are given their record in their right hand will read it [with pleasure], and they will not be dealt with unjustly in the least.
72. But those who were blind in this world (The ignorant) will be blind in the hereafter, and most astray from the Path.
The different groups that claim faith / belief
32. Then We have given the Book for inheritance to such of Our Servants as We have chosen: but there are among them some who wrong their own souls; some who follow a middle course; and some who are, by Allah’s leave, foremost in good deeds; that is the highest Grace.
Why is it so difficult to accept the truth?
39:55. And what is there to keep back men from believing, now that Guidance has come to them, nor from praying for forgiveness from their Lord, but that [they ask that] the ways of the ancients be repeated with them, or the Wrath be brought to them face to face?
39:56. We only send the messengers to give Glad Tidings and to give warnings: But the unbelievers dispute with vain argument, in order therewith to weaken the truth, and they treat My Signs as a jest, as also the fact that they are warned!
· In the stone age era mankind goes about naked
· Civilization put cloth on the body of humanity
· Now Modernization is removing the dress
· Islam says dress properly
‘The ways of the ancients be repeated with them (tradition, culture)
Free Sex trade – many bastards
Drunkenness Vs Junkies – Sanatorium and mental homes
Nudity and raping
Might is right Vs bombing, kidnapping and robbery
Or the Wrath be brought to them face to face? (Cancers, AIDS, etc)
The Patient (Allah) gives a second chance
39:58. But your Lord is Most forgiving, full of Mercy. If He were to call them [at once] to account for what they have earned, then surely He would have hastened their punishment: but they have their appointed time, beyond which they will find no refuge.
§Out of His mercy, He granted opportunity for repentance
§When you sincerely repent He blesses you again and again
§Why then will you not accept the amnesty of Allah?
§All you need do is to strengthen your faith in Allah
§Remember that whatever has a beginning has an end
§Who can give you protection if Allah did not give you peace of mind
Path to Paradise Narrated Abu Jamra:
I used to sit with Ibn `Abbas and he made me sit on his sitting place. He requested me to stay with him in order that he might give me a share from his property. So I stayed with him for two months.
§Once he told (me) that when the delegation of the tribe of `Abdul Qais came to the Prophet,
§The Prophet asked them, “Who are the people? (Or) who are the delegate?”
§They replied, “We are from the tribe of Rabi`a.
§Then the Prophet said to them, “Welcome! O people (or O delegation of `Abdul Qais)! Neither will you have disgrace nor will you regret.
§“They said, “O Allah’s Apostle! We cannot come to you except in the sacred month and there is the infidel tribe of Mudar intervening between you and us.
§So please order us to do something good (religious instructions) so that we may inform our people whom we have left behind (at home), and that we may enter Paradise (by acting on the instructions).
§“Then they asked about drinks (what is legal and what is illegal).
§The Prophet ordered them to do four things and forbade them from four things.
ü He ordered them to believe in Allah Alone and
ü Asked them, “Do you know what is meant by believing in Allah Alone?”
ü They replied, “Allah and His Apostle know better.”
ü Thereupon the Prophet said, “It means:
1. To testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Muhammad is Allah’s Apostle.
2. To offer prayers perfectly
3. To pay the Zakat (obligatory charity)
4. To observe fast during the month of Ramadan.
Then he forbade them four things, namely Hantam, Dubba, Naqir−Muzaffat or (Naqir) Muqaiyar (names of pots in which Alcoholic drinks were prepared,
The Prophet used the names of the pots to designate the prohibited drinks usually brewed in them). (Beer, burukutu, ogogoro, Gin – all intoxicant etc)
ü Intoxicant is the vehicle that leads the soul to destruction
ü The Prophet further said (to them): “Memorize them (these instructions) and convey them to the people whom you have left behind.”
The Creator has describe man as An-Nas, the forgetful one, if for whatever reason, you have been negligent, forgetful, sinning, a chance to purify, cleanse, re-brand or transform you is ‘The Ramadan”, how prepared are you to receive the Blessed Month – The month of Rahmah dedicated to the Ummah of Nabbiy? Take maximum advantage please!
A season of good deeds Narrated Ibn `Abbas:
Allah’s Apostle was the most generous of all the people and he used to reach the peak in generosity in the month of Ramadan when Gabriel met him. Gabriel used to meet him every night of Ramadan to teach him the Qur’an. Allah’s Apostle was the most generous person, even more generous than the strong uncontrollable wind (in readiness and haste to do charitable deeds).
The essence of life is in knowing that purification of soul is a means for the attainment of Paradise, safe guard your soul. BJ
