Police Storm Melaye’s Maitama Residence

ABUJA – Heavily armed police personnel have stormed the residence of the Senator representing Kogi West in the Senate, Dino Melaye, in Maitama, Abuja.

The Senator announced this on his Twitter handle @dino_melaye on Monday afternoon.

According to him, the policemen numbering over 30 have condoned off all roads leading to his residence.

Melaye tweeted, “Over 30 heavily armed fierce looking mobile policemen have just stormed my residence in Maitama, Abuja.

“All roads leasing to House has been condoned off, as heavy mobile policemen blocked entry & exit of the road.

“They currently laid siege on in and around the House.”

Prompt News Online recalls that Senator Melaye was arrested in the morning at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, as he was about travelling to Morocco.

Senator Melaye, a close ally of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, chairs the ‘juicy’ Senate Committee on the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
