The Police Command in Borno has presented N41 million cheques to the family members of 26 personnel who died in active service in the state.
This is contained in a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Dasun, on Friday in Maiduguri.
He said the Command presented cheques to the beneficiaries under the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Family Welfare, Group Personnel Accident and Group Life Assurance scheme.
The scheme, he said is geared towards improving the living standard of family members of police officers who died in active service and those injured while discharging their duties.
He commended the gesture by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the money to better their lives. (NAN). READ ALSO:
