LAGOS – By Victoria Hanson A senior pastor of the Rapture Ministries in Lagos, Pastor Wisdom Okon, has enjoined parents to guide their children in the way of the Lord.
Speaking during the annual Sunday school children’s rally held in Oworonsoki, Pastor Okon also advised parents to eschew wickedness and use of negative words against their children, pointing out that it could affect the children in future.
He said children are gifts and inheritance from God, adding that if they are not properly treated, angels of God can descend punishment upon the parents.
Pastor Okon also told the children to be obedient to their parents either biological or other elderly people around them.
Speaking, Deaconess Imelda Nestor, said “before a man will enter into the kingdom of God, he /she must first employ humility as a child.”
She condemned the attitude of some parents who she said incessantly rain curses on children, advising that they should strive to train their children in the way of the Lord such as teaching them bible reading and singing of Christian songs in an early stage.
In her speech, the leader of Sunday school for children, Sister Grace Nathaniel, encouraged parents to allow their children to attend Sunday schools so as to lead them to the rightful direction and to also broaden their knowledge.
