Oyo State House of Assembly, has appointed principal officers during the plenary sitting on Tuesday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the assembly, consisted of 28 PDP and four APC members.
The assembly had on the day of its inauguration elected the Speaker, Mr Adebo Ogundoyin – (PDP-Ibarapa East) and Deputy Speaker, Muhammed Fadeyi – (PDP-Ona Ara) for the 10th Assembly.
Other principal officers are: Sanjo Adedoyin – (PDP-Ogbomoso South) as the House Leader, Sunkanmi Babalola, (PDP-Egbeda) Deputy Leader, Salami Ayinde Waliu, (APC-Irepo) Minority leader, Gbenga Oyekola, (PDP-Atiba) as Chief Whip, and Yusuf Adebisi, (PDP-Ibadan Southwest) as Deputy whip .
The House also constituted a 7-man ad-hoc committee to continue the investigation of alleged misappropriation of fund and other allegations levelled against some council chairpersons.
The committee consisted of; Peter Ojedokun (Chairman), Oladeji Oparinde, Tunde Kehinde, Gabriel Babajide, Sanjo Adedoyin, Bamidele Adeola and Akande Modiu as members.
The house adjourned sitting to Thursday, June 22. (NAN)
