Chief Coach of Enyimba International FC, Salisu Yusuf is insisting that the former African champions league kings are still in the running to win the league and federation cup this season.
Speaking after he led the people’s Elephant to pip Nasarrawa United 1-0 in the quarter-final of Federation Cup tie at the M.K.O Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta, coach Yusuf said winning the double was a possibility.
He said with Enyimba FC lying third on the NPL log and reaching the semi-final of the Federation Cup, they have a great chance of achieving what they set out to do at the beginning of the season.
“We are cruising now after an initial poor run. All we have to do is to keep the momentum by winning as many matches we can and see where it will take us. It is very possible and we shall give it a try”
“I think we have the quality and wherewithal to win both trophies and we are determined to go all the way to do just that. The idea is to win a ticket to return to the continent next season” he stated
Enyimba International will square up against Lobi Stars in the semi final tie.
