Lille forward Victor Osimhen has backed the decision to cancel the 2019/2020 French Ligue 1 season.
French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe announced the cancellation of the Ligue 1 season last month because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Paris Saint- Germain were later declared Ligue 1 champion by France’s Ligue de Football Professionnel.
PSG was 12 points above second-placed Marseille at the top of the table when the season was suspended on March 13 .
“I think the championship will resume in September or August but I don’t know exactly. For the rest, the end of the season has been canceled, everyone is at home and it’s really crazy,”Osimhen was quoted by lepetitlillois.com.
“I’m really jealous of the Bundesliga players who have taken over. But I think it was the best decision in France and staying safe. “
Osimhen scored 18 goals and bagged six assists in 38 games across all competitions for Lille during the season.
